Nosewise ("we," "us," "our") is a dog health tracking app operated by Shadow Horizon Studios LLC. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We built Nosewise to help you know your dog's normal, not to profile you. We do not sell your data, and we do not run ads.
Information we collect
Account information: your email address and password (passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never stored by us in readable form), and an optional first name you enter for your greeting.
Dog and care information you enter: your dog's name, breed, birthday, sex, weight, photos, care schedules, and the logs you create (weight, appetite, energy, notes, completed tasks), plus optional records (medications, allergies, conditions, and your vet's name, clinic, and email).
Household and care team: if you invite others to your pack, we store their name and (optionally) email to manage the invitation, and we associate their account with your household so you share the same list.
Basic technical data: standard information needed to operate the app reliably (for example, error and performance information from our service providers). We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
How we use information
To provide the core app: store your logs, compute your dog's "normal," send the reminders and digests you turn on, and generate vet reports you choose to share.
To enable family sharing within a household you create.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
Notifications (care reminders and the Weekly Sniff) are sent only when you enable them, and only as described in the app. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings.
Where your data lives
Nosewise stores your data using Google Firebase (authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Storage), operated by Google LLC on our behalf. Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections. When subscriptions launch, purchases are processed by Apple, and subscription status may be managed through RevenueCat; we never see or store your payment card details.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only:
With people you choose (for example, members of your household, or a vet when you share a report or PDF you generated).
With service providers who operate the app for us (such as Google Firebase and, for subscriptions, Apple and RevenueCat), bound to use it only to provide those services.
If required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Your choices and rights
Access and edit: your data is visible and editable inside the app.
Export: you can export a copy of your data from Settings.
Delete: you can permanently delete your account and its household data from Settings → Delete account. This removes your login and the data your household owns.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as under GDPR or the CCPA). Contact us to exercise them.
Data retention
We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete the associated household data as described above. Backups and provider logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten.
Children
Nosewise is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Security
We use reputable providers, encrypted connections, and access rules that scope each household's data to that household. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
